There are more type foundries out there than you might think. From small one-person studios to established independent foundries, the type-design landscape is full of people making and publishing their own typefaces.
So we put together a list of type foundries and independent type designers worth knowing.
It’s deliberately focused on individual foundries rather than large collections, marketplaces, or distributors. Some are well established, others are newer or much smaller, but all are interesting places to discover type.
The list is alphabetical and includes the foundry name and website. Updated every six months or so.

This isn’t intended to be a definitive directory of every type foundry out there. New foundries appear, existing ones change their names or websites, and some eventually disappear.
Theis list isn’t actively monitored or continuously maintained. We’ll probably check it once or twice a year and update it when we can, but there will inevitably be some outdated links or missing foundries between updates.
If you notice a foundry that should be included that’s not reseller or distributor, a broken URL, or a name that needs correcting, let us know. We’ll add it to the list the next time we update it.
